Excellent adventure story
This is a wonderful telling of a daring cavalry raid during the Civil War -- exciting, suspenseful, inspiring, with a warm emphasis on the human element. Even if you're not interested in the Civil War, this is a memorable adventure story. It flows along effortlessly and is hard to put down. You form such an attachment with the main characters that you're sorry to see it end. Thoroughly enjoyable.
