Im big fan of the grimgar series so it’s no surprise why I rate it so high.
This volume reminds me a lot of volume three but with more boss encounters. It’s really fun to see some of the older characters but it still saddens me that shihoru is still missing as her character was developing into one of my favorite characters in the series. Only so she could be swooped away.
However, some of my gripes on the series is how everyone keeps losing their memories resulting in some of the past experiences to become utterly meaningless. It’s great that some people remember which makes for a great plot device, but it almost makes past installments feel utterly meaningless like volume 13 and 14. It would have been much better if the author just wrote that they rode the boat all the way to alterna at which point the master of the forbidden tower came along and erased their memories. Thus, saving us a whole lot of waiting for the next installment.
At which point just feels like things are at a standstill and nothing is really moving along other than character development. But at this point doesn’t matter because that characters that matters (to me) loss their memories.
At this point I just want shihoru back and for haruhiro to pick a girl already. (Preferably my girl Shihoru).
May the power of love bring them back together.
