Growin' Pains by Deshonda C. Fields is about Michelle Collins, an eighteen-year-old girl from Detroit, Michigan, who tries to balance her family and friends after her mother was killed in a tragic car accident. This left Michelle to take care of all her siblings-her three sisters and her two brothers. For her it's hard being the oldest, but it's even harder for her when her father is constantly unemployed.
