Growing Up

‘Growing Up’ is a short story that deals with a twelve year olds loss of a close family member. A boy named Jamie experiences the shock, sense of loss, confusion, grieving and the funeral process. His Mom and Grandparents gently help him through this ordeal.
Jamie learns about the grieving process and how to deal with his loss.
This is a difficult subject to address and read about but some kids have gone through this or will in the future. I hope this story can be a useful tool to many. Kids feel better when they know their peers have had similar experiences and this can actually speed up the healing process. It’s important to note that this book does have a happy ending.

’Growing Up’ is 48 pages long and is a ‘self read’ or ‘read aloud book’ viewed in landscape mode.
A young and very gifted artist in Saigon, Vietnam created the 12 original illustrations for me.
