Is your Reading score stuck?

SAT students often find that their reading scores stagnate, and weeks or even months of practice passages can't budge them.

Having worked with SAT students from around the world for over 17 years, I have found that there are some common problems that prevent students from raising their SAT reading scores.

In this book you will learn:

How to improve your reading through understanding how English Vocabulary is tested
How to unravel old-fashioned sentence structures
How to avoid telling yourself a story that traps you in wrong answers
What the common question types for the Literature passages are
How the test makers create wrong answers that seem right

Additionally, Guide to SAT Reading: Literature Passages also contains an analysis and explanation of the literature passages from the 9 released College Board Tests and suggested reading lists.

This is the first in a series of guides focusing on the Reading section of the SAT (the most neglected section in most study guides). Future guides will focus on the Global Conversation, Science and Social Science Passages.

Helpful tips and Examples

I found every page of this book useful. The recommended books to build vocabulary were wonderful and not extremely boring. The examples used to illustrate her points were wonderful as well. I recommend this to anyone, even if they’re taking the ACT instead.
