Guilt, Empiricism & Ethics

There is an important philosophical and cultural ‘back-story’ to the cataclysmic CORVID-19 crisis (C-19) and; the society-changing events surrounding its near instantaneous dissemination from the markets of Wuhan in China, into a global pandemic. This paper sets out that back-story of cultural concepts of guilt, angst and punishment and; counter-poses these against the Litmus Test of C-19, to explore the reactions and likely impact of the global events of early 2020; on the very nature of: Empiricism; Science; Advocacy; Activism; Government; Freedom; Religion and foremost; Citizenry. Through the traumatic and chaotic months before and leading up to the peak of the crisis in about mid-April and finally; Postulating on the likely after-effects on humanity itself; Oracles; Entrails; Princes; Popes & Scientists: Are all shown to fall way as reliable props for sustainable humanity under the C-19 Litmus Test; But Sophos stands.
