Just…wow
Lord have mercy!! Brenda Jackson has done it…again. The story of Cohen & Dee; I couldn’t put it down. Dee had been in love with Cohen, the hot catch of a neurosurgeon, for as long as she could remember. Truth be told he has been in love with her, too, but cannot seem to let go of a past hurt. When Dee finds out why Cohen is so reluctant to open up to her, she loves him even more and tries to show him that it does not have to be that way. But he wasnt having any of that.
I could empathize with Dee, trying to love someone who doesnt want to be loved, or so he thinks. What Cohen didn't see was that he was doing the same thing to Dee that had been done to him. He kept rejecting her. The difference in the two of them was that Dee kept trying where is Cohen threw in the towel. But Everyone has a breaking point, even Dee. Thanks to Cohen’s neurosurgeon partner, he got some enlighteneng advice. But the tables turned on Cohen and he had to risk having his love rejected.
I was so sad for Dee because I could almost feel how much she loved Cohen and I could feel her heart break. I admired her strength and her struggle to push forward. When the elements finally came together, I could feel Cohen’s regrets and his wish for Dee to open up and receive his glowing love for her.
This is a must read. Kudos to Brenda Jackson.
