Publisher Description

“LIKE A GRINDHOUSE SUPERHERO MOVIE GONE AWRY…”

Trevor Werner is the sinister Mr. Twist, a gun – the good guys are called capes, bad guys are guns – making his crooked way through the 2-fisted, twilight world of small-time super crime.Trevor enters an uneasy alliance with two fellow criminal also-rans: bruised, beautiful Olive Armstrong and aging 70's super-radical, Agent Orange, when the trio stumble upon the passed out body of a left-for-dead superhero. The plan is simple: ransom the hero at an underworld 'black auction' and split the take three ways. Of course, like all simple plans it goes disastrously, murderously sideways...

Pulpy and gorgeously hand painted by writer/artist Jack Foster. Ongoing from Reckless Eyeballs Press.

An awesome intro into a world you can't wait to explore deeper!

There is no denying that Jack Foster’s Gun series is a labor of love. You can see the effort and care put into each water-colored panel. Foster has a unique style that is completely his own, which is a welcome break in a world where most comicbook artists seem to rely on duplicating the greats and the mainstream comics. He is able to create a distinctive world and characters you can’t wait to go on other journeys with and explore what else this world of his has in store. His artwork has a nostalgic quality to it, which makes it familiar but not to the extent you feel like you have seen it before; Foster’s love of comics can be seen in some nods to comics of the past. “Fighting is my Monday” is a great entry into the world of Trevor Maxwell, Olive Armstrong, et al. The artwork is inconsistent at times due to being drawn over a series of years but that adds to the charm; you get to see the workmanship progress and the vision come into focus as you read along. Some may want to peg Gun in the same vein as Dr. Horrible or the Suicide Squad, but the comparison quickly ends at all having the stories’ focus on the bad guys, or Guns, rather than the heroes. It’s in a class of its own, and the book definitely gets you hooked on where these characters are going next!
