Marie Costa is part of the mafia family in Montreal. Her father forces her to do things she doesn't want to do. But it's the only way to protect her sister, Mika. The only person she thinks of is Hacker after that passionate night six months ago. When she decides to leave the family, she hopes it will help her.

How will Hacker react when he discovers that her past sins go deeper than he thought? Will they put aside their anger and be able to work together? Can Hacker keep Marie alive?

This is the second book in the Merceries series. It is a romantic suspense. If you love alpha males and bad ass women with complicated lives and happy endings, you need to read Hacker.

Loved every page

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and Travers’s writing. I’ve read works from this author previously and always find myself completely transported into the world that unfolds in my mind. This book was a fantastic blend of chemistry and action and suspense. Loved every page and am hoping for more in the series.

Tons of Action!

This is the second in the series. In here we meet Hacker and Marie. There is a ton of action and some crazy times. I wanted to love this but Hacker seems flat. Some working background would be wonderful. See him at his job and bonding with the team. He is deemed a computer expert but nothing is shown in here to that aspect other than at the gunfight he seems to want to “talk” the others down. Marie is a mafia princess treated like dirt. About to be sold off for marriage she asks for help from Hacker. She wants to fight for her rights and does show some moxy later in the book. Her personality does a 180 deg turn that threw me off. Then the ending confused me as to why they both are doing nothing.

Overall this has some good points and is a quick story. It covers the action well and throw in mafia mentality. It moves along at a fast pace that easily keeps my interest. I wish the characters were more well developed so that I could *like and feel* them.

Good quick read

I liked this book, although it was not my favorite. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I feel there could have been more action. The book seemed to be more focused on the romance rather than the action associated with a group of mercenaries. As I said before it was a good book for some light entertaining reading!! I would recommend this book.
