I've improved already
I started playing in March 2014 and just hit a plateau. I could only play chords and pluck out a fraction of a melody. I purchased Lil Rev's book today, so far, I've learned how to read and play some new notes on the high end of the staff. Good buy!

Great book teaches you everything and the examples are very helpful, I have guitar books from Hal Leonard as well and have gotten great results
