A different book from Maarten
I enjoyed this tome almost as much as his last three. I never had the disease of alchoholism, and probably never will, but I have a few friends who do. This book helps me with my empathy towards them.
It is also another fine travel book. Just as his last book forever cured my desire to see China, I now have no reason to see Tahiti.
Troost, if you read your reviews, you are my inspiration. I wrote a travel novel and I am serializing it on FB on a page called BOCAS TIME. It won the grand prize In a big contest, but because I am constantly on the road, it is just too much hassle to deal with publishers.
I hope you write another soon.
