Headlong Hall

Thomas Love Peacock (1785-1866) was an English poet and writer who worked in the genre of satire. His works are dedicated to satirizing the customs and day-to-day life of his contemporaries. Peacock’s writing style combines the elements of the mock-Gothic with those of the Aristophanic.


'Headlong Hall' is a novel by Thomas Love Peacock that was initially published in 1816. In this work Peacock satirizes on people's monomaniacal obsessions. The story takes place at a house party and the humorous part of the novel is expressed through characters interactions and conversations.
