Publisher Description
INTRODUCTION The ethos of a society is intricately linked with the character of its people, their values, and the role that tradition and religion play in their lives. Traditionally, the position of healthcare interactions and healthcare providers within developing societies is often privileged. This relatively high social positioning is becoming more complex with the continuing and rapidly-occurring scientific developments in medical technology and clinical knowledge (1,2). The social dissemination of these developments poses challenges to the norms and traditions of healthcare delivery, especially in developing countries. These changes are reflected in the sociomedical dialogue within a society (3).
