Great teacher, great book!

I’ve had the pleasure to take many of Paisley’s yoga classes for many years. Her teaching style is present, clear, open-hearted, and mindful and this book is no exception. Healthy Shoulders is beneficial for anyone who is feeling the weight of the world on their shoulders and would like a practice of relief.

Great book, instructions and photos/video

I bought this book after searching for a solution to pain, tightness and weakness in my shoulders and right arm due to a slipped disc in my neck. I have ZERO experience with yoga but was able to follow these detailed instructions with photos, video and clear writing. In addition to this book, the author has a great blog that I am now following as well. I have been through several rounds of physical therapy and my doctors have said there is nothing more they can do beyond prescribing drugs. But after about a month of doing these stretching and strengthening exercises, I am getting stronger and looser, and I’m in a lot less pain. The author even offers alternate ways to perform each stretch if the way described causes any pain or discomfort. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to explore some simple yet effective ways to stretch and strenghten your shoulders and improve your posture. I have shied away from yoga techniques because it seemed too difficult without one-on-one instruction and years of practice; but even if you’re a beginner (like me), this book is easy to follow. And because I’m making such rapid improvements, and feeling so much better, I am inspired and motivated to stick with it. Also, I read a lot of e-books and have found this one to be very well done in terms of writing, editing, formatting, photography and navigation.
