Absolutely refreshing! been patiently waiting for this! I loved it! the realism of the story is touching and I couldn't put it down. I love a book that has me anticipating and still curious about a furture. Totally looking forward to a sequel because the ending was so unexpected and optimistic! Job well done.
Very nice work!
I had the pleasure of reading this book in advance and to be honest, I found this to be a powerful and harrowing story of a young girl’s slide into decadence and her struggle to leave her life of crime behind and heal the rifts in her family. Fanchon handled the culture shock of a spoiled suburban girl suddenly thrust into the projects very well. The sex scenes are honestly but tastefully handled. Heart Of Kings is a gritty tale--very realistic and it exposes the ugly truth of what life is like behind some families closed door. This is a story that needed to be told.
I didn't want the book to end It played out as a movie in my head as I read it loved it.
