With her bestselling Lunar Chronicles books, Marissa Meyer gave the Cinderella story an adrenaline-charged kick in the pants. Heartless puts a similarly thrilling twist on the mythology of Alice in Wonderland, focusing on the back story of the reviled Queen of Hearts. Like Wicked, Meyer’s book asks us to question fairy-tale notions of good vs. evil and consider that villains might be turned bad by wretched life experiences. We absolutely loved this story—the writing is sumptuous, and Lady Catherine Pinkerton is a strong-willed, modern heroine.

My heart is in pieces
Please tell me I’m not foolish to still have hope of a happier (and not too impossible) ending? My heart is literally in pain after the final few chapters...

This book was awesome and i ended it in two days.

My heart was broken for Catherine and Jest. And I don’t hate the queen anymore.since i read this book, i cry whenever i listen to castle crumbling by Taylor Swift. Its Catherines song😢
OMG
This was the best book ever written in my opinion. I LOVED Jest. He was the best.
It also made me feel bad for the Queen of Hearts. Before I read this book, I honestly thought that she was a complete jerk, but now I sympathize with her.
