Publisher Description

Nothing about this cover really grabbed my attention, other than it being written by Amy Jo Cousins. Having read one book from her prior, it was enough to get me to read the synopsis which made me smile. If I react that way to a blurb, I can only hope I'd enjoy the story as much.

Josh is a 5th year college student and NFL-dreaming offensive lineman in his mid-20's living in Minnesota. Discovering an anime show online, he meets Benji and they banter back and forth over several months, mostly through social media sites, then more privately. Josh has his suspicions that "princessglitter" is male, but ignores it, like he's made excuses and denied his own sexual identity all his life. But that all changes when, on a whim, Josh decides to hop on a plane to meet his friend in person.
While, admittedly, the couple first fall into the stereotyped roles of the big jock topping the smaller twink, the unique perspective that the twink is older by more than a handful of years balances things out in a small way.
The story is short. Between the lack of written length and the unusual format of the storytelling in this one, the plot loses some of the depth and the chemistry and connection that a reader tends to make with the characters are easily lost. But the cast is thoroughly enjoyable. The plot is entertaining. It was almost too light and feel-good with the out-for-you jock and little to no backlash from the college sports world? There was plenty of mention of Josh's family, yet we never once read of Benji meeting them - major downer to me. Instead, the story ends with a focus on one of Benji's friends.
Predictability was low. The conclusion provides a satisfactory implied HEA but would have benefited from a flash-forward style epilogue to better solidify their status.
Overall, it was a light piece that made me laugh and smile.
