Enjoyed this Highland Tale
Very imaginative version of the aftermath of the Culloden massacre of the Highlanders in 1746. I really liked Langston and after many many pages was able to tolerate Lisle. Lisle was at time so dense, prejudiced and predictable it made my head ache. How she ever had sparks of knowledge and wisdom amazed me as her character had been written. Being a descendant of a Highland Scot clan, it was nice to read about the Scots having a bit of relief from the monster English in those first years after the battle and the clearance started. Good fiction is good for the soul.
