Short but interesting.
Although short, the story was long enough to show the level of advancement and give a feel of this story universe. Of course it also needed to introduce many characters and some backgrounds. The author did so just enough to interest me, so I'm on to the next book. Unfortunately (for me at least) the author is setting up political "intrigue" and some power hungry back stabbing as the other half of the plot. I tend to not care for this because I read to take a minor, temporary break from that part of our current reality.
