Ronald Oliver taught in remote rural schools in Western Australia in the 1950s. This book provides an autobiographical account of his teaching experiences and life at the time for young teachers in what was often a quite harsh and lonely environment.


The book covers his experiences in 3 locations across the depth and breadth of Western Australia. The book describes what is was like to be a teacher and describes his experiences at Haig, on the Nullarbor Plain, Augusta in the South and Yampi Sound in the far North.
