I usually enjoy first hand accounts even though I know these men went thru hell.
Hellcat Pilot
I thought it was very good account in a daily journal style of a fighter pilots experiences fighting in the Pacific Theater.
You can't walk away from this one!
If you enjoy WWII aviation you will love this. The detail in the description of what daily life was like on a carrier in the Pacific during the war is incredible. From training to combat, Gabby has a way of bringing the monotony of carrier life to the adrenaline rush of combat to life for the reader. His simplicity and suttle style make things seem so understated and yet so believable. You will truely enjoy this!
