Good Story
I liked this story but the language was a little too much for me.
Quick read, not much depth or character development
Overall I loved this book, but I wish there had been more material and more depth of the characters. I finished the book in about 2 hours, and while I read quickly I do like books that last me a couple days. Writing was good, characters flip flopped on whether they were dominant or sweet and emotional, and independent or helpless.
Make up your mind
This story was difficult to read because the author couldn't make up her mind what kind of story she wanted to tell. Did she want her male hero to be an alpha male or not? Did she want her heroine to be a strong independent woman or not? The actions of both characters, and especially the way the book ended made it difficult to answer those questions. I think it's what is plaguing some of the contemporary romance writing today. Authors don't know how to portray the female leads in these fantasy plots. In my opinion, it works best when the author just decides, and then writes it that way. Most readers will appreciate that because it will make the book less confusing, and a lot more fun to read. I won't be continuing this series, or reading other books by Genevieve Turner.
