Different portrayal
This is a cast of characters that make you want to scream. Their attachment to each other slowly drains them of any positive identity. You are a frustrated reader knowing they could do so much better. This is an excellent portrayal of mental illness.
Hmm….
The story definitely wasn’t boring. A bit longer than it needed to be, in my opinion. I had to skip a lot of it there at the end. Once the……”business transaction” took place (don’t want to put spoilers here), the villain in the story and the over-the-top codependency between the two main characters were just too much for me to keep looking at.
The ending……slightly predictable (one character being written in first person and the other in third gave that away for me), but decently satisfying yet terribly disappointing at the same time. It left it all on a depressing note, where no one really wins in the end. The story was most certainly intriguing though, definitely held my interest better than the last book I read (different author).
Amazing! I want to read it again!
Seriously the writing is so beautifully done and the imagery is so intense and unique! I will definitely check out her other books
