Melissa Sanderson is the perfect wife and mother. She dotes on her daughter, and lives in her dream home in a quiet cul-de-sac in the suburbs.
But looks can be deceiving.
Something is amiss in that house – all the neighbours think so. Some say Melissa is having an affair. Others say she’s been drinking too much.
Then one night, sirens wake up the whole neighbourhood.
Melissa Sanderson is dead.

Despite Gina’s life coming under threat and demons from her past being exposed, she pursues the case with a courage and determination that make her one of our favourite detectives.
Couldn't put it down!
This is a good thriller. I kept reading it late into the night. It was so engrossing, I couldn't put it down.
A gripping thriller that doesn't let you go!
I read The Next Girl and had to put it down several times because my heart was pounding and it was no different for The Final Hour, I pre-ordered the book as soon as I finished the first one. Harte is a strong female lead character that stops at nothing to get the job done. I admire this character and her independence. Carla leaves out no details and paints a vivid picture of every scene in the book with her writing.
