Her Finister

Love endures...even in the cold space between stars

An artificial intelligence puzzles over the concept of love and tears, but when her Finister—a curious and rare alien creature—is taken from her, she sacrifices everything to find him again in a journey that spans galaxies and years and many shapes in a tale of endurance and loyalty. "Her Finister" is a sweet science fiction retelling of a Russian fairy tale, "The Dazzling Falcon Finister."

This lyrical story was originally published in Once Upon a Time charity anthology as "The Dazzling Finister," and later published in Shape Shifters Vol 1 (out of print) by Elva Birch.

Birch Hearts is a collection of short stories and novellas by Elva Birch, full of romance, adventure, and magic.

Shifters, witches, spaceships, and swords...these stories aren't always straight, but they are always straight up fun. They don't share a setting, but they all celebrate diversity and growth, and you know you'll get a satisfying conclusion in a bite-sized book.

And always? A touch of the impossible and irresistible.
