Publisher Description
Vonnie Davis welcomes readers to Wounded Warrior Falls! In this sizzling contemporary series, broken heroes meet women worth fighting for—and discover the healing power of love.
Navy SEAL Dustin Frank can handle physical pain; it’s his soul that needs mending. After losing part of his leg in an explosion, the panic triggered by his PTSD nearly drives him over the edge. So Dustin retreats to the Eagle Ridge Ranch, a charming hideaway tucked into the Hill Country of Texas. There he finds solace in the arms of a shy beauty who reawakens desires he thought he’d lost forever—and who makes him want to lose control, just when he needs it most.
Kelcee Todd sees beyond Dustin’s scars to the real man beneath: fiercely protective, strong yet tender. She wants nothing more than to feel his battle-hardened hands on her body. However, Kelcee is not the ordinary small-town girl she appears to be. Her brother is a killer with ties to the Russian mob, and after her testimony put him in prison, he’s out and eager for revenge. Now Dustin is her best defense, even if it could cost him everything. Kelcee could never ask him to make that sacrifice . . . but she can’t stop him, either.

Hard to put down
This story kept me turning the pages. Kelcee and Dustin have been through a lot and are willing to accept each other for who they are now. Their struggles had me smiling and tearing up. I highly recommend this book.

Total Eye Opener
Wow! I can't even begin to express the emotions this story brought out while I was reading it. My heart broke so many times for Dustin and the changes he was experiencing...and Nance, what a wonderful creature. Dogs just always seem to know what we need, and give it freely. And then there's Kelcee...so much heart that she used to reach a man who desperately needed her, but didn't know it. And her sassiness and sense of humor, had me laughing out loud throughout the book.
Just when you think you're reading just a romance novel...Bam! What a turn the story took...to say the least, I was riveted. There is such a message of acceptance in this story, of us as individuals, it was quite a powerful message that showed itself throughout the book. The secondary characters took on a life of their own...the author did a tremendous job of creating such dynamic individuals who carry their own stories, as well as made this one so much more enjoyable. Lastly, I must say that I'm totally impressed with Ms Davis' attention to detail, and accuracy of information she provided about our Wounded Warriors (our service Men and Women) and PTSD...she provided information and a valuable service about this disease to anyone who reads this story.
