Hard to read...
The plot and characters really made me want to like this story, but it reads like a middle schooler’s essay. There are no nuances with the dialogue, or actions. They are described stiffly. It’s like the author’s process was, “I’ll make this person say this, and the other person say that, then they will do this...” without connectivity or flow. There are few descriptions of tone, and nothing to stimulate the reader’s senses. Something like, “He touched her hair and then he kissed her.” Nothing about the hair color, or how it felt in his fingers, or heart beats, etc. It’s very flat. I am hoping this in a young, uneducated author that could improve with proper instruction and life experience. As it stands, I feel as though I am watching a kid play with Barbies rather than reading an adult romance novel.
