Well written and filled with yearning.
Nick knew of Veronica “Ronnie” in high school. He was there for a hot minute. They never talked but had secret crushes on each other.
Fast forward to when Ronnie is 33, divorced and back home to open a bakery.
What I liked? Nuanced, multilayered characters. They are in their 30’s and age appropriate. There’s drama, but the main focus is on their emotional connection.
I’ve read a previous iteration but liked this one equally.
