PRAISE FOR HIDDEN:
'It's one of the best YA books I have read in a long time and I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment.' --Samantha Towle, New York Times bestselling author of The Mighty Storm
'It's creepy, it's romantic, it is a thrill ride - so hang on tight and get ready to be taken for tons of twists, turns and bumps when you read Hidden' --Paromantasy
'A definite NYT Bestseller in my opinion' --Were Vamps Romance
One of the best stories I have read in a while. I couldn’t put it down and the historical accuracy was amazing! Idk how this isn’t more popular than other vampire series!!
I love the characters. The story kept my attention all the way through. It was hard to stop reading to do anything else. Even at the end, I wanted to keep reading. I look forward to the next book. There are some graphic violence scenes, however, it's clean enough for young teens to read it.
19th century vampire meets modern day girl
Hidden is about a lost underground city where Marchwood Vampires were legend to live. This legend has spanned for two centuries. Alexandre is living proof that this legend is true.
Alexandre Chevalair lives in Paris in the 19th century. Alexandre goes on an archeological expedition in search of the lost city hidden in underground caves in Cappadocia.
Alexandre’s life becomes entwined with Madison’s when she discovers the cellar in the Marchwood estate in England. Madison Greene lives in Britain with her younger brother. At sixteen she inherits the Marchwood home which dates back to the 19th century. Unbeknownst to her there is danger to be had within the cellar of this home.
In Cappadocia a legend has been part of local folklore for centuries. It tells of an ancient civilization who built a vast city underground. It is said that this city was governed by non-human creatures. If this town is to become discovered again destruction will ensue.
It’s thrilling and suspenseful once the past and present collide, turning Mandy’s world into a nightmare. Once introductions get underway the story finally cross-threads these two characters lives. The book spans the centuries from modern England to 19th century Paris. The action/adventure portion of the story didn’t begin until half way into the book.
It was interesting blending centuries by incorporating Alexandre’s character into modern day society. Madison helped Alexandre acclimate into the twenty-first century.
Madison’s character was brave, strong, and independent. She was also patient and caring.
Nineteenth century vampires meet the twenty first century. It’s like a time travel story into the future.
Once Madison discovered the vampires the story was quite appealing and entertaining, but getting to that point was slow. I really enjoyed the storyline but the execution needed some work.
