Not really a short story
This is more like a sample chapter than a proper short story, so it is not worth paying for. It would be nice to see the character Amberly Vale get her own novel, but the people who enjoy Mitchell's series should not be expected to pay for a teaser which was probably put out to see if they would pay for a work with Vale as the central character.
