Publisher Description
Sizzling with passion and suspense, perfect for fans of Joanna Wylde and Julie Ann Walker, the Brothers of Mayhem series revs up as a headstrong beauty faces off against an outlaw motorcycle club—and falls for the bad boy she never saw coming.
Cassidy Ryder refuses to be intimidated by anyone, even the hell-raising, hard-drinking Brothers of Mayhem. The daughter of their former president, she’s not above smashing a few heads to keep her teenage brother safe. But when Cassidy’s big mouth gets her in trouble, the only thing that saves her is some quick thinking from the Brothers’ bartender. He’s commanding and strong, and as smooth as the whiskey he pours: the ultimate temptation for a girl who swore she’d never be a biker’s plaything.
But Thorn Savalas is no ordinary biker. He’s a cop, and he’s worked too hard earning the Brothers’ trust to blow his cover over a female—even one who rocks a pair of jeans like Cassidy. The only way to protect her is by claiming she’s his old lady. Trouble is, Thorn can’t just pretend. He wants Cassidy, and every scorching touch tells him she feels the same. But acting on their hottest fantasies could leave them both exposed . . . even if nothing else has ever felt so real.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Swafford teaches a profound lesson about trust and acceptance in this brutal motorcycle club contemporary. Cassidy Ryder is the 21-year-old daughter of the former president of the Alabama-based Brothers of Mayhem, but she wants nothing to do with the motorcycle club, since her father was a violent criminal who killed her mother. She's determined to rescue her 18-year-old brother from the clutches of the gang and the temptations of a life of booze, women, and violence even if it means embedding herself in the organization. Undercover cop Thorn Savalas is trying to keep Cassidy safe, not dig her deeper into trouble, but when Cassidy's uncontrollable temper angers Stonewall, the club's current president, Thorn's only way to protect her is to claim her as his woman, and her only chance of survival is to play along. As their charade of being lovers bands them together, they uncover each other's secrets and connect on an emotional level, making it difficult for them both to remember their relationship is supposed to be fake. This savage contemporary is filled with action, deception, and emotional and sexual tension that leave readers panting right up until the highly anticipated climax. Unfortunately, the ending is rushed and a little bit of a letdown.
Customer Reviews
Cassidy is Annoying!
I can't remember reading a story with a more annoying female than Cassidy! Even Thorn's hotness wasn't enough to make me read the rest of it. Seriously! How many times can she get herself - and Thorn - into so much trouble?! Ugh! Such a waste!
