There is a story arc that runs through the three books and though each individual love story finishes in each book, the trilogy is best read in order.

So good!
I loved this book so much! Sky and Slayer’s story was a phenomenal finish to a great series. The story’s pace was well matched by the plot and character development. I laughed, gasped, cringed, cried, and loved my way through this book. I also liked that Sky and Slayer had time to fall in love, and that it didn’t happen all within a week; their falling in love followed a more natural rhythm — it felt more substantial and real. Also, I was pleased to see that not every conversation between Slayer and Sky was overly gushy with love talk, but that too, followed a more natural cadence. Overall, I’m well pleased with this story and highly recommend it.
It was okay….
After waiting for what seemed like forever for this book to come out, I was sadly disappointed by it. Slayer and Sky just weren’t the characters I had expected them to be.
The story line was good-ish, but there really wasn’t much chemistry between them other than sexual. Slayer wasn’t quite the alpha-male that he was portrayed in the other books. He just seemed to be sort of, I don’t know, inept, for lack of a better word. Because he shouted and was loud, he was feared and respected? Really?
Sky was also lacking in my opinion. She was wish-washy. Either she was wise and beyond the opinions of others or she was deeply wounded and troubled by others. Of course, the author had her as both. How is that possible? She’s insightful and yet naive at the same time.
I had been so looking forward to this finalization of the trilogy, but it wasn’t nearly as good as I had built it up to be in my mind.
