Abducted and taken to a remote cabin in Alaska, Frankie finds herself at the mercy of four feral men, each with his own dark secrets and twisted desires.
With nowhere to run, she must rely on her wits to survive the harsh winter, trapped with them.
As she delves into their mysterious pasts, she uncovers an insidious evil that feeds on loyalty and uses love as a weapon.
Nothing is as it seems.
In this desolate world where the monsters are as beautiful as they are cruel, trust is elusive. They torment her, protect her, and keep her in the dark.
But to have any chance of escape, they must stand together.
Or fall prey to the evil in the hills of shivers and shadows.

It will take your breath away…

Some books give you tingles and this is one of them. They might be good or bad tingles but this book pulls you in.
At times, it felt like my heart rate increased, my palms got sweaty, and my stomach did flip flops. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put it down but had to know what happened next.

Frankie, the MFC, is kidnapped to remote area where the only way in or out is by plane. While the house is beautiful, it’s full of evil and she must survive. This story has you picking a side and rooting for them. Wanting them to do something and not knowing where the story was going. I read alot of books and they can get hard to find a new storyline. This one kept me guessing and turning pages the entire time!! Read it in 2 days. Cannot wait for the second book.

I love Pam Godwin books, I think she is an amazing author. I do understand her books are not for everyone. Please read the trigger warnings and know your own. At any time, your mental health matters.

I give this book 5 stars and an A+ recommendation.

Never disappointed

It’s dark, twisted, and perfect. Possibly one of the darkest romances I have read and I AM HERE for it! I have already preordered the next book. I knew this series wouldn’t disappoint because Pam just has a way with words….

A hard read, but I’m invested in this story & it’s characters

I finished Hills of Shivers and Shadows a little over half an hour ago and I’m still processing it after I talked about with someone else and also with myself — yes, I talk to myself, I am not ashamed, it comes in handy at times, especially like right now when I feel a lot and I couldn’t all possibly put it down on paper because it’s just too much. Also when I don’t really know how I feel and I need my mouth and mind to take me wherever I need to go and thinking about writing what to say can slow me and my thought processes down. I’m not still not completely sure what all to say here, but I just know that I’m a little sad… okay, maybe I’m lowkey devastated and want to have another cry. I know I’m being a bummer, but you all, this book is a hard read and I’m not a stranger to reading a hard Pam Godwin book, alright? I’ve read Knotted and the prologue of Complicate and was gutted, so when I read the Author’s Note and Pam Godwin tried to warn that this was perhaps darker and heavier than her previous books, I wasn’t that concerned about the level of darkness. I was nervous about the angst mentioned in the tropes section and that it was a trilogy, but that was mostly it. Hills of Shivers and Shadows was everything it was promised to be and even though it left me crying and with a lot of feelings, I don’t regret reading it. I can’t necessarily say I loved it, but it did affect me deeply and I want to continue on with this series.

I can’t say much about Hills of Shiver and Shadows without spoiling it, but I can say to heed the Author’s Note at the beginning and know that it is dark and heavy and tragic and angsty and it’s going to infuriate you, horrify you, and disgust you and break your heart and punch you in the gut. However, while it’s doing all of that, you’re also going to watch characters change and grow and become close and become a strong family filled with determination, love, sacrifice, and an unbreakable bond. It’s difficult but it’s also beautiful and you’re going to root so hard for Frankie, Leo, Kody, and Wolf and you’re going to want to know what happens next and wish with everything you have that they get what they want and find peace. At least, that’s how I felt and how I feel and yeah, I’m sad and want to cry again from writing all of that, but I’m going to go through with this to the end because I want to see these characters get their HEA — I need to because I love them so much and they wholeheartedly deserve all of that and more.
