I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
While this is a part of a series, you do not have to read the prior ones to understand and enjoy this one. I personally haven't read the prior ones. I was totally engrossed while reading about Zoey and Sebastian.
I also enjoyed the dual POV format of this book. Getting that glimpse into the two characters' thoughts really helped me to understand them. This helped me with Zoey here. Seeing why see married Trevor while still in love with Sebastian was a big hurdle for me until getting her perspective.
This is a very sexy story. I would recommend to any adult especially if you love second chance romance with a first love.
Everything I Wanted
Ever since I was introduced to these characters in the previous books in the series, I’ve been waiting to read their story and hopefully experience their HEA. There’s nothing I like more than a tortured, brooding, soulful man, and that’s exactly what Sebastian was.
Finally getting the full story behind Zoey’s rejection from so long ago, and realizing how much both characters changed because of it was heartbreaking, but it was also necessary. And on top of falling in love with Sebastian and Zoey, you get to fall in love with her kids even more than when we were introduced to them in Gavin’s book.
The only thing that held me back from giving this 5 stars were the grammatical errors, and the misuse of names. I knew what the author meant, I just wish she had some additional editing. For people like me, who cringe when we see something like that, it can distract from the writing. But aside from that, if you love the idea of finding your way back to “the one that got away,” I highly recommend reading! And the fact that their are hot “intimate” moments is simply a bonus ;).
