A runaway Highland lass stumbles into the fierce protector who'd risk his clan to keep you safe.
A storm-lashed night changes everything when Brighde Kerr collapses in Alexander Sinclair's arms on the threshold of Castle Dunbeath. Half-frozen, feverish, and desperate to remain unseen, she's a stranger clinging to secrets that could drag the Sinclair clan into deadly danger. Alex's instincts as a protector leave him no choice. He carries her inside, determined to save the mysterious lass fate dropped at his door.
As days turn into nights by the fire, Brighde's defenses begin to crack under Alex's steady care and quiet strength. His gentle hands and unwavering loyalty offer the safety she's never known, but every soft touch and stolen glance only sharpens her fear. If he knew who she truly was—and who might be hunting her—would he still risk everything for her?
Alex is already certain. He vows the protection of Clan Sinclair and stakes his own future on the fragile woman who has captured his heart. Yet Brighde can't quite believe in a life where she isn't running, isn't hiding, isn't alone. Their growing passion ignites into something fierce and undeniable, but when the very source of her terror rides up to the castle gates, Brighde's past threatens to destroy their fragile hope.
This time, Alex refuses to stand aside. To keep Brighde safe, he'll face any enemy, defy any consequence, and prove that the only future he wants is the one where she finally chooses to stay in his arms and in his clan.

Exciting Love Story
I have enjoyed this book. I am originally from California and live in Tennessee now and am almost 86 years young. I had a fall and in a NH Rehab. I read all the time and will look the other books when I get home.
Couldn’t get into it.
Poor writing with long rambling run-on sentences. I couldn’t get 30 pages in.
I loved more then the second book
I loved this book a lot more than the second one! it didn’t move as fast, and the characters has more whim and loving nature about them. It was truly a good read, some of the steamy parts were a bit strange but I was okay compared to Callums story.
