“Day one and she’s already proven to be a naughty pet.”
I’ll be honest, during the first ten chapters I was really worried I was going to be unable to ever warm to the hero. Lorenzo was odd, violent, dark and seemingly crazy. Even the brief flickers of emotion he began to experience weren’t enough to soften him. Several times he scared me as much as Amelia. Then things began to change. He began to change. It was incredible. I slowly began to warm to him the same time Amelia did. As she began to care for him and then fall in love, so, too, did I.
The story along with the actions and emotions were unbelievable. I laughed a few times, cried more than once and held my breath in anticipation and hope until the very end. What a roller coaster!
By the way, anyone who mentions bdsm pet play in their review didn’t really read the book. There’s no bdsm in this mafia romance except for a single spanking that was for punishment only. Lorenzo isn’t a Dom nor does he claim to be. There’s no pet play here, either. So if you’re not really into bdsm books but do love a good, dark mafia romance this is a perfect choice. I’m ready for Settimo’s book next, His Prize. I can’t wait!.
Intriguing and Intense
This was an intriguing story. I was hooked from the beginning. The characters are wonderful and the storyline is intense. I couldn’t stop reading it. I’m definitely going to have to continue reading this series and highly recommend reading it.

A good mix
A definite suspenseful page turner! The ending was crazy, I was not expecting it to end like that, but I’m glad they were all ok. The only thing I thought was confusing was that they didn’t explain more about Lorenzo’s old flame…. Curious to read Settimo’s story.
