Claimed by the Highlander
Good read endearing characters.
Too long
That's all. It's a good story, but it could've been condensed quite a bit.
Good story. Classic but unique Scottish romance
I liked the story and characters. It was good and I liked the somewhat unique timetable. I have read much set in the 1300s.
However, as much as i enjoyed the story, i was a bit distracted by some writing. We’re told that Reade’s accent got stronger the farther north they went. However, we don’t see this in the dialogue. Everything stayed too proper. Ex. Continued use of don’t instead of doona. It’s one thing to tell use but it evokes a whole other essence if we’re shown. Change his accent in the wiring and spelling of words. Same with the other scots. It’s a good way to easily distinguish between the English and Scottish.
