As the Master of Suspense Alfred Hitchcock left a legacy with us of films that captured our hearts, minds and attention. Even though he's been gone nearly 50 years, his films remain with us today. As one of the foremost filmmakers of his generation, Hitchcock continues to fascinate us, not just for his talent, humor, and artistry, but for the style in which he created his films. So much so that filmmakers, film historians, journalists, and critics coined a phase for the style of films he made and how those films – even those not made by Hitchcock- were in a category all their own. They were “Hitchcockian” and even today, more than 40 years after his passing, Hitchcockian films are still being noted for having that Hitchcock touch.

Hitchcockian films are those made by various filmmakers, with styles and themes similar to those of Alfred Hitchcock. That Hitchcockian way of telling a story, by luring us in and keeping us on the edge of our seats continues to be a challenge that filmmakers today strive to achieve.
