Publisher Description

Holding On is a poem that is a kind of double entendre about falling asleep (returning to the world of dreams) in the arms of a loved one after waking from a nightmare, and/or, passing away when your loved one is present.

This poem is 5 stanzas of 6 lines each. Syllable count, for each stanza is (per line) 10, 8, 11, 8, 9, 8 -- and of course the 5 stanzas of 6 lines each all follow a repeating method, and the rhyme is between stanzas (each line rhymes with the same line of the next stanza) but each stanza's lines do not rhyme. Intriguing, yes?

The structure of this poem provides for 5 chapters, one for each stanza. Each stanza has had its lines split-apart in order to preserve the intent (the pacing) of each line, and thus each line may be given its own page; there may be instances, however, where managing the evolution of the poem in your mind, some lines have been split into multiple pages, or, multiple lines of a stanza remain on the same page (making it so a page is not necessarily equal to the count of lines of a stanza).
