Determined to solve the mystery of this corpse before the police do, Lou is suddenly dogged by a stalker, triggering the protective impulses of her stern team captain, Callum Cook. He offers to help with the investigation. Their developing romance is punctuated by threats from a killer. Puppy-like Lou manages to soften dour Callum, and she rises to the occasion when her newly acquired rescue skills are all that stand between Callum and death. The characters are not very well developed, but romantic suspense fans will enjoy the unusual setting, and Ruggle's ice-rescue certification adds an element of authenticity to the rescue descriptions.

Romance, Suspense with a Kick-A** woman with a wonderful HEA!!
What a great story!!! I read the novella "One His Watch" for some of the background, but "Hold Your Breath" was such a well rounded filled out story full of suspense, drama, and quiet romance. I especially enjoy a great suspenseful romance as long as it has a great flow to the story and this one definitely had it. Callum had such a quiet commanding presence and Lou was noisy, dedicated and so much fun. It seemed that nothing got her down. She never gave up, just picked herself up and just kept moving forward. Callum was quietly by her side supporting her. On the search and rescue for the dive teams, there was just enough information without getting too detailed and detracting from the story, but just giving us enough to enhance what we were reading about. "Hold Your Breath" is a real winner for Katie Ruggle and I highly recommend it. I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks for gifting me with an ARC and only asking for an honest review. 4.5 Stars!!
