From TikTok sensation Celina Myers comes a fresh, intriguing novel about a woman who finds her destiny and her family after being turned into a vampire.
Mia Adair isn’t even twenty-five yet, but she’s starting to wonder if her peak has already passed. She’s spent years working at her local bookstore, a job that was supposed to be temporary. As a kid, she experienced a strange sort of fame within the paranormal community thanks to her inclusion in a book that revealed Mia’s ability to talk with the dead. But that was then, and Mia’s “gift” dried up once adolescence set in. These days, she feels like she’s nobody special.
Until she dies in a tragic car crash and reawakens as a vampire…
Forced to leave behind everything she knew, Mia must choose to live with one of two rival vampire families. The Bellamy and Sutton clans share a dark, complicated history that spans centuries. As Mia learns about their age-old traditions and extraordinary powers, along with their forbidden romances and betrayals, she’s drawn toward two very different loves. And as she feels her gift returning, more potent than ever before, Mia realizes she’ll need it to protect innocent lives—and save the only family she has left.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This clunky paranormal romance from TikTok star Myers (The Haunting of Clandestine House), originally self-published in 2021, falters in both plot and characterization. Mia Adair feels all washed up at 24. As a child, she saw spirits and earned a level of fame through her parapsychologist mother's book about her abilities, but she lost the skill as she grew older. Now Mia's single, degree-less, and working a dead-end retail job. Then a car crash ends her life and she's reborn as a stunningly beautiful and powerful vampire. The vampire world is organized into Families, with the once joined, now tentatively allied Sutton and Bellamy clans being two of the most influential. Both instantly adore Mia and court her to join their ranks, with love interests, Margo and Luca, emerging from each Family. Turns out that Mia is fated to play a very important roll in the Families' future, but a murderous vampire conspiracy threatens this destiny. Myers has some fun with classic vampire lore, but the stilted prose and paper-thin characterization make it difficult to invest in the unevenly paced story. This is a slog.
Customer Reviews
Honestly terrible
I’m a big fan of hers but this book was almost unreadable. The characters were bad, the pacing was bad, half of it didn’t make sense… just bad. I feel ripped off tbh
