The average soldier is nothing more than an infinitesimal cog in an enormous war machine, whose life is of little consequence in the grander scheme of winning a war. But to the average soldier, survival is everything. One of those average soldiers named Arthur J. Harvey, a radio operator for a B-24 bomber crew in North Africa during World War II, wants nothing more than to return home.
