The crops are DOOMED, so she's being SACRIFIECED to the beast to SAVE her village!
 

The village elders claim the sacrifices will stop the next plague, famine, and drought. They claim the sacrifices will end when the village is no longer suffering. 

IT'S A LIE!

And thanks to those ignorant corrupt fools controlling the townsfolk, Elizabeth will soon be dead. The beast may be nothing more than a farce, but the labyrinth she's trapped in is very much real. 

As Elizabeth desperately attempts to escape, falling deeper into the bowels of the earth, she quickly discovers that someone else has been down there before. Someone—or something—that not only lurks in the shadows, but is trying to catch her.

And it is not her former villagers or her imagination.
