Applecross Sheep Station, New Zealand, 1901. A new century dawns, carrying with it the dreams of five young men.

Giles and Wiremu Mackenzie seek glory in the African war. Ralph Pender finds a like-minded soulmate as he pursues his vocation as a doctor. Herbert Latham is blind to the impact on his family as he seeks riches and adventure. And then there is the handsome Nat Gilligan, who wants nothing more than a good time until he meets the woman of his dreams.

Each man looks to the future, yet the choices they make will test friendship, family loyalty and love. While some dreams will be realised, others may be shattered into pieces, but all will leave their mark on Applecross at the dawn of the Edwardian era.
