Hot Knight for Hire

Aiden and Cat continue on this series in the same fun manner as Bash and Penny. This is a pretty light-hearted funny read with a little drama/violence and mild sex scenes thrown in. Aiden is a lumberjack sized man with a teddy bear gentle heart. He plays the role of the spectacular rascal, but is portrayed much weaker. I'd love to see im live up to the name and have a bit more manly man behind the muscle.
Overall the book is a fun read with some entertaining letters/tet back and forth to keep the pace pretty fast. The text are fun enough i'd love to see an entire book of them. ;)
Some of the things Panties and Curve do make me wanna bang my head and scream "Anyone who has ever seen a crime show knows you can't do that". these Duh moments are my main reasoning behind 4 stars instead of 5.
I reccomend this fun read to anyone who loves a good romantic comedy

Lili Valente is a brilliant story teller and once again she has shined and outdone herself in Spectacular Rascal. She pulls you in from the very first word to the very last. As a reader you feel the highs and lows of each character because you feel as if you are that character. I LOVED the humor, sexiness, and sweetness of Aiden and Cat's relationship. Aiden the sexy, tattooed, hottie may have the look of a tough bad boy, but really he is anything but. Eleven years ago he chose his career over a chance with Cat. Aiden and Cat were teammates of the Dashers. They became the best of friends, a friendship that bloomed through secret notes and texts. Cat always held a torch for Aiden, two years her senior, but never acted upon it until the night before he left to study the art of tattooing. Cat wanted Aiden to be her first, someone she trusted and leaned on during the good and bad. However Aiden chose to leave, but always wondered what could have been.
Fast forward 11 years. What a surprise it was for Aiden to find that the girl he thought about often, his once best friend, turns out to be his next client. Ready to end their contract before it even began because of their past, Aiden finds himself stuck in limbo when he learns that Cat's ex is part of the mob and he is willing to do whatever needs to be done to get Cat back. Done deal! He can't let her down. So Aiden does everything in his power to protect and keep her safe, while making sure her ex knows that Cat has moved on. The more time Cat and Aiden spend together, the deeper they start to fall for each other. Although danger lurks all around, Aiden and Cat tune out the world and enjoy each others bodies, experiencing some mind blowing sex. Soon Aiden questions if maybe just maybe the girl he let get away 11 years ago just might be his match in heaven. Will Aiden and Cat have their second chance in love? Can AIden keep Cat safe and out of the arms of her stalking, crazy mobster ex?
What I really enjoyed were the flashback notes and texts between Cat and Aiden. They were flirty, cute, sincere, therapeutic and filled with lots of banter and humor. I also loved that the story was written in Aiden's POV, and the hysterical rituals of the Dashers. Thank you Lili Valente for writing one of my top reads for the summer.

Lili Valente has outdone herself! Magnificent Bastard is such a great book that I went into Spectacular Rascal thinking it would pale in comparison. I was so wrong!
Spectacular Rascal is Aidan’s story. It starts off with him streaking in the park so I knew immediately I was going to like him. He gets a big surprise when he walks in to meet his new client and discovers she is the girl he knows as ‘polka dot panties’.
I loved the wit and humor in this book. I always enjoy a good second-chance romance and one that includes a tattooed hero who is standing up to the girl’s psycho ex makes it even better. If you’re into tattoos and dirty talk, you should definitely give this book a try.
