It’s 1949 in New Orleans and private eye McKenzie Blaine is just coming to after being knocked out cold and locked in a tool shed. It’s not the first time Mack’s been sucker punched and gone lights out, and probably won’t be the last. Just an occupational hazard. Only this time will be different, and a lot more dangerous.

Mack’s part-time secretary, and part-time singer at the Tip Top club, Stella Malone managed to get herself mixed up with some of the worst mob bosses and hired thugs in the Big Easy. Throw in a murder, a who-done-it, and a string of events are set in motion Mack and Stella may not even be able to shoot their way out of.

Written in the detective noir style of a classic black and white movie, Hot Lead and Cold Shoulder will take you back to a time when a detective was a gumshoe, guns were heaters, and pretty girls were skirts, dishes, and dames.
