Hott Take

This was a really good read about so much more than the Hatt family inheritance. Shane has been called in by the not so nice family attorney to read his letter from their late grandpa. His letter requires him to arrange a celebrity wedding at the family’s venue to help it grow. So, he finds out there is another celebrity who has moved to town, Ivy.” He “proposes” a fake marriage to her in exchange for helping with her children’s theatre. Of course, the both fall and fall hard. To watch them get out of their own heads was so good. She has always felt like the only person she has is her sister. The small town rallies around her. Shane’s sister, the spa staff, Sonya, and the Wilder family women show up for in so many ways. I loved their story and look forward to the next one.
I’ve been a fan of Serena Bell’s for a whille now and I loved the first in her new “Hott Springs Eternal” series, “Hott Shott.” I was eagerly awaiting the next book and wasn’t disappointed! “Hott Take” is so much fun and so romantic. The series features a group of brothers who are grudgingly taking on tasks assigned to them by their late grandfather in hopes of saving their family’s land and business. And this time around it’s Shane’s turn. Shane needs to orchestrate a celebrity wedding, something the big time actor figures he can accomplish easily. But things don’t go as planned and he ends up talking town local and former actress Ivy into a fake marriage of convenience. The trope may not be new but Bell manages to put a funny, sexy spin on things that kept me reading long into the night. I loved the relationship that grew between Shane and Ivy and how they were able to connect on so many levels, including their shared careers. Shane is a sweetheart who thinks he isn’t capable of having a serious relationship with a woman, while Ivy has been burned before and isn’t ready to rush into anything. But thanks to their scheme the two of them learn how to love and it was so much fun to watch them fall. I also loved the cameos from characters of past books in both the Hott and Wilder series. Serena Bell keeps building on the rich, quirky and wonderful world she has created and I for one am glad to be along for the ride. Highly recommended!
This one just said something to me. Loved the story line, the characters, everything about it. Go read it!
4.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 5!
I absolutely loved the first book in the Hott Springs Eternal series (be sure to check out Hott Shot, it’s so freaking good!!) as well as all the Wilder series books, so I was super excited to get to read this one!
This book follows Shane (another one of the Hott brothers) and Ivy. Once again the Hott family is called in for their grandfather’s will reading and this time it’s Shane in the hot seat. (“Hott seat?! Haha) In order to get his inheritance and help his sister save the family land and business, Shane has to pull off a celebrity wedding. When his original celebrity couple falls through, he and Ivy (both TV stars) decide the next best thing would be to pretend to be in love and have their own fake wedding. They’re both super attractive to each other and start falling for each other.
This was such a cute book and easy read… I read it in one day! ❤️ I just couldn’t put it down. There was just the right amount of heart and heat (I loved the spicy scenes!) I also really love how we get to see the other brothers and their wives from the other books and see how their lives and relationships are going. Such a good installment in the Hott Springs Eternal books! I can’t wait to hear Preston’s story!
