Publisher Description
Just as Homeland Security Agent Addison Leigh reaches the pinnacle of her cyber investigation into a firearms smuggling ring, she's attacked and left for dead. Her estranged husband, ICE Agent Mack Jordan, is notified that she's at the hospital in a coma. He may have let his past military trauma ruin their short marriage, but she never gave up on their relationship, and he remains her next of kin.
Mack rushes to her bedside, where he promises to hunt down the man who attacked her. Mack failed her once when he bailed on their marriage, and he's not about to let her down again. But when she wakes up in the hospital, she remembers neither the attack nor ever being married to Mack. And when a second attempt to take her life is made, it's clear something very sinister is going on, and Mack and Addison are in for the ride of their lives.

Loved loved it!
Another winner has arrived. When an accident brings Addy and Mack together after a year and a half apart, could this be their second chance? There are only a few things standing in the way— Addy doesn’t remember Mack, her accident may not have been an accident, and he’s still struggling with PTSD. What had Addy been working on that’s put everything at risk? As clues pile up, danger is around every corner, and Addy is in the crosshairs. Mack wonders if she will remember before time runs out. The bigger question, will she remember him? This story is full of suspense, and carries threads of faith, love, and friendship in the midst of trouble. I loved it! I was given a copy of this book courtesy of Baker Publishing House through NetGalley and This is my honest review.
Normally great writer
Susan Sleeman is a talented writer, and it is obvious that a lot of research was done for this book. I appreciated the inclusion of sovereign nationals in the book. That is a real problem of which few people seem to be aware. And it is refreshing and wonderful to see a federal agent as a hero; this is what real life is usually like in the trenches! I normally love her books; however, this one was just way too political for me. I know that is an author's prerogative, and during the last several years, it has happened more often than not. Just not my cup 'o tea. But I appreciate all the work behind this book. 🙂
RIVETING!
Susan Sleeman has just released HOURS TO KILL (Homeland Heroes Book #3) and it is RIVETING! Sleeman always delivers a compelling, edge of your seat, romantic suspense that will entertain you from the first page until the last. She never fails to grab your attention and her first line is a perfect example. “The brutal killer put a knife to her mother’s throat.” From that sentence on, Sleeman launches into the story and brings in her dynamic cast of characters. The main characters in this book are Homeland Security Agent Addison Leigh and her estranged husband, ICE Agent Mack Jordan. Addison is working a case and goes out to chase down a lead. On her way home, she is involved in a terrible wreck that is no accident. She still has Mack as her Emergency Contact on her Driver’s License. Mack immediately comes to Addison’s side and upon learning that someone tried to kill her, he summons the Red Team (the Task Force Team he works with and Addison’s former Team, too). They assemble and quickly try to recreate what she was working on just prior to her accident. What they discover puts them all on High Alert as it is a sinister threat that can take out hundreds if not thousands of people and they only have hours to solve the case. The biggest problem is Addison is suffering from amnesia from a concussion sustained in her car accident and cannot remember her research on the case. The upside of that is she also cannot remember the reason that she and Mack split up either. She does not remember being married to him or any members of the Red Team. However, as she spends so much time with them in the Safe House and working so closely together with Mack and the Team, will they be able to find love again or drive a wider wedge between them? Will they able to find the missing clues and more information and solve the case in time to protect the lives of many innocent people? Another fantastic offering by Susan Sleeman!
