House Rules

She built a fortress of glass to keep the world out. She didn't expect the storm that would trap them inside.

Diana Waverly is a titan of industry, but behind the ruthless lesbian billionaire CEO facade is a woman paralyzed by a tragic past. For five years, she has exiled herself to The Aerie, an isolated, glass-walled mansion on the jagged cliffs of Cape Falcon. She demands absolute silence, sterile perfection, and strict obedience to a two-hundred-page rulebook. She is untouchable. Unreachable. And slowly freezing to death in a cage of her own making.

Enter June Abbott.

Hired as the new estate manager, June is no stranger to fighting for survival. Hardened by the grueling city and driven by a fierce, protective instinct, she refuses to be treated like a ghost by her icy employer. Instead of shrinking away, June pushes back. She replaces the sterile nutritional shakes with hot meals. She weaponizes her dry wit. She lights fires in the hearth. June was only hired to manage the property, but she is determined to bring the house—and the woman inside it—back to life.

When a violent Pacific squall washes out the only access road, the two women are entirely cut off from the rest of the world. Trapped together as the storm rages, the rigid professional boundaries finally collapse. The unspoken tension boils over into a desperate, staggering intimacy that forces Diana to face the terrifying prospect of trusting someone again.

But bubbles always pop. When the real world violently breaches their sanctuary, Diana must make a choice: retreat behind the safety of her corporate armor, or risk her entire empire for the woman who saved her.
