APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Happiness isn’t something you feel—it’s something you do. At least that’s the message renowned Christian author Max Lucado (Anxious for Nothing) imparts in his deeply relatable self-help guide. In this quick, light read, Lucado balances scripture and science to argue that little actions are what lighten the day. Whether it’s offering a friend a word of encouragement or showing compassion to the barista if they mess up our coffee order on a busy morning, we reap the benefits of happiness by showing it to others. In a complex, consumer-centric world, adopting Lucado’s positive outlook helped us shift how we think about our daily lives.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Lucado (Anxious for Nothing), pastor at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, suggests strategies for living a happier life in this hopeful work. Rising rates of depression and suicide, Lucado argues, are the result of a culture obsessed with fortune and accomplishments. To counter this, Lucado suggests readers live with more empathy toward others. To that end, he lays out 10 steps for increasing happiness, beginning with encouraging one another and cultivating patience. Readers are urged to turn away from self-promotion and to focus on others; Lucado also stresses the importance of prayer and attending church regularly to foster community. He counsels readers to accept one another's differences with an attitude of grace, but to also be bold in speaking the truth of scripture when admonishment is needed. In the end, what's most important for Lucado is to "love as God loves." A section with questions for reflection inviting deeper self-inquiry and study is included. With advice deeply rooted in scripture, Lucado's program for finding for happiness will be excellent for group study.

“How Happiness Happens"
The author spends time telling us how he wants us to see when our happiness and how we can question ourselves if we can serve people more, can encourage them more and can help others more. We need to look at when happiness happens and we need to discover if it comes from God or we are being selfish and focus on ourselves to see things to make us happy. We need to make notes on how often we feel when happiness occurs and check all of the questions under differnt chapters of the book to see whre we serve for God to express our happiness. I think that the author gives me a lot of examples that I did not think about so it is going to be a good book for you when you want to see how you discover yourself when
happiness happens.
